A magnified view of one of the most dangerous mold spores discovered inside buildings today: Stachybotrys chartarum (atra). Stachybotrys is related to serious respiratory disorders and has been linked to the death of infants and others with compromised immune systems. It grows almost anywhere that relative humidity sustains 90% or more against a building product like drywall or carpet.
