A modern floor (white) over the top of an old asbestos floor (yellow) over the top of concrete using a black oil-based glue (dark diagonal). Moisture passing through the permeable asbestos floor was trapped under the modern floor. The beginning of floor failure problems came when materials changed and concrete moisture considerations did not change.
