Q. Will the floors be ready for resilient floor coverings?

A. Yes. We pour self leveling cement over our sealers where resilient floors are to be installed. We typically do not pour cement where carpet is to be installed.

Q. How soon can we install a floor over your system?

A. Typically with resilient floors, our systems are installed in 1 to 2 days. The floor covering material is then installed within 16 hours after that, which is the curing time for the material. With carpet areas, we usually install our system within 1 day, and you can install the carpet within 10 hours after our completed installation. The exception would be if temperatures fall below 60 degrees or if there is no ventilation. It may take a few more hours for materials to properly cure.

Q. Is the installation of your product guaranteed by the manufacturer?

A. Obviously the most important of all qualifications, is whether or not the manufacturer will guarantee the installation. We have seen the finger pointing that occurs between a manufacturer and an installer, when a failure occurs. To eliminate this problem, Floor Seal Technology, Inc. has our own employees, installing our own products, out of our own offices located across the United States.

Q. As installation contractors, what insurance coverage do you carry?

A. Floor Seal Technology, Inc. carries a 5 million dollar product liability policy from an A-rated carrier and is bondable for any sized project.

Q. Can you verify your reductions with all systems?

A. Independent testing firms have tested the effectiveness of Floor Seal Technology treatments over the years. We have corrected floor problems in over 70% of Silicon Valley's electronics industry, installations that underwent intense scrutiny. We maintain a complete database of past clients from hospitals, schools, retail, commercial and government buildings.

Q. Are there moisture & pH limits that could void the warranty?

A. We can offer you a limited or unlimited warranty. Treatment requirements are based on the need of the client, job site conditions and the nature of the problem. Since not all slab conditions are alike, each project is treated according to its own specific condition.

Q. What about the flooring, does replacing it void your warranty?

A. Not usually. Only if the treatment layer is damaged by demolition crews. Typically we finish every treatment for resilient surfaces (rubber, vinyl, VCT, etc) with Specially Engineered Cements for a cementitious surface that is extremely tough. There might be a small charge to touch-up any damage from demolition. Following the touch-up, we will honor the life of the warranty.

Q. Are there any other exclusions that you have?

A. Few. We do not warrant failure caused by topical flooding or improper maintenance of the flooring that damages the flooring adhesive from the top down, or broken pipes or sewer lines. We may not treat a concrete slab that is unsafe structurally, or designed so poorly that it does not meet up with the basic concrete construction practices outlined and accepted within ACI-318. You would be notified before we contract with you of any problems that may exist. We do have the technical ability to correct sub-standard concrete which will require special services.

Q. Is there a limit on how high of a moisture and alkalinity problem you can warranty?

A. No. We routinely treat slabs with a moisture vapor emission over 20 pounds and a pH of 14. We do offer other warranties in value-engineered projects.
